Arquivo-Geral do Judiciário
The Arquivo-Geral do Judiciário provides researchers, professors, students, and other interested parties with access to the historical documents in its custody, Monday through Friday, in person, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The permanent collection includes documents and case files from the colonial period (17th to 19th centuries) and a vast amount of 20th-century documentation, which holds special historical, cultural, evidentiary, and informational value for academic studies and institutional research.
We recommend consulting the search tools available on the archive’s website in advance and checking the documentation that has already been digitized and made available on AtoM.
We are continuously working to digitize the permanent collection, including the colonial-period series, and gradually make it available on the AtoM system, thereby expanding access and preserving the memory of the Judiciary.
